Light Sessions

Energy Healing + Soulful Portraiture

Light Sessions are Reiki energy healing sessions that are practical, grounding, and supportive. This is your chance to stop chasing healing for its own sake, and to embrace where you are today. Reset your nervous system and recalibrate your energetic system.

Light sessions is more than energy work, it’s a social photography project that aims to capture the subtle shifts and energetic presence that arises during or after healing. It’s not required that you participate in the photo project to receive a healing session, but if you do choose to participate and join the many faces of healing, allow extra time for your portrait to be taken before and after your session.

What to Expect

Whether it’s your first Reiki session or your fiftieth, knowing what to expect can help you feel safe, supported, and at ease. My approach is intentionally spacious—this is a place where you don’t have to rush, perform, or carry anything alone. Here’s what you can expect when you book with me:

  • Every session begins with a brief check-in. I’ll ask how you’re feeling—physically, emotionally, energetically. You’re welcome to share as little or as much as you’d like. This time helps us align, ground, and co-create a container for the work.

You’ll then get cozy on the table (fully clothed) while I prepare the space with intention and presence. Soft music, grounding touch (when appropriate), and a sense of ceremony help ease your body into a receptive state.

  • As you receive Reiki, I remain fully present in the room with you. I don't leave or disengage; I stay connected to your energy and nervous system the entire time. You might feel warmth, tingling, emotional shifts, or simply deep rest. Every body responds in its own way.

If physical touch is involved, it’s always light, intentional, and respectful. If you prefer a no-touch session, we can absolutely honor that. This is your healing experience.

  • Integration is part of the medicine.
When the session ends, you’ll have space to come back into your body slowly. I never rush this part. We’ll sit together briefly afterward, and I’ll invite you to share anything you noticed. If you'd like, I’ll also offer reflections about what I sensed or experienced, so we can explore any patterns or messages together.

You’ll leave with practical tools or intentions (if desired), and the option to follow up later as things continue to shift.

How I Lead Reiki Sessions

My Reiki practice is rooted in presence, deep listening, and respect for your autonomy. I don’t follow a rigid protocol, I follow your energy. These tenets guide every session I hold:

  • Presence Is the Foundation

I stay with you energetically and physically for the entire session. I don't step away or "let the energy do the work" on its own. Holding space means being in it with you—from start to finish.

  • Your Experience Leads

You are the expert of your body. I begin by asking how you’re feeling—not to diagnose, but to meet you where you are. After the session, I wait to hear what you noticed before sharing anything I sensed. Your story comes first.

  • No Unsolicited Commentary

I never reflect on how you looked, what your body did, or how “intense” your session seemed—unless you invite that conversation. Your release, emotions, or body responses are yours to name, not mine to interpret aloud.

  • Consent Shapes Everything

From touch preferences to post-session sharing, I ask before offering. Whether we speak or sit in silence, the pace and tone are co-created. I always check in before offering insight or feedback.

  • Integration Is Sacred

What happens after the session is just as important as what happens on the table. I build in time to ground, reflect, and explore what came through. There’s no rush to "wrap it up." You deserve space to land.

  • Every Session Is Unique

I don’t follow a script. Your energy is different every time we meet, and so is mine. I trust our shared intuition to guide what unfolds—whether that includes hands-on Reiki, energy sensing, breathwork, silence, or somatic presence.

  • Healing Happens in Relationship

I’m not a fixer or a healer who “does something to you.” I walk beside you. Reiki is a co-creative process, and my role is to listen deeply, offer what I sense, and hold a space where your own wisdom can emerge.

Photography Offering

Honest Portraits, Seamlessly Integrated

As part of a new creative project, I’m offering portrait photography to clients during their session at no added cost. You may even walk away with a headshot you truly love!

This won’t cut into your session. We’ll plan ahead so the photos happen before or after (usually within 10 to 15 minutes) and it can flow naturally as part of our check-in or post-session integration. It’s simple, unforced, and aligned with the energy of the space we’re already holding.

Why offer this? Because when something is captured in a photograph, it becomes more real. These portraits are a way to honor who you are in this moment.. not styled or staged, just seen.

I’ve been a professional photographer and filmmaker for over 16 years, and this project is a personal passion. It blends my creative eye with my healing practice to witness something subtle and true -the transformation that happens with energy work.

A Grounded Approach to Energy Work

When you work with me, you're getting the whole picture: 16 years of experience as a professional photographer and filmmaker, and years of training in energy healing, intuition, and somatic awareness. This work is deeply personal to me, and every session is shaped by the full range of who I am.

My Reiki practice is about presence, not perfection. It's about listening closely to what your system needs and holding a space where your own natural intelligence can lead the way. I blend modalities and meet each session as a unique collaboration.

As part of this ongoing passion project, I also offer portrait photography at no additional cost during or around your session. Sometimes, transformation wants to be witnessed and having an image that captures your truth in that moment is powerful.

FAQ

  • Not at all. Reiki is for anyone, regardless of background or belief. You don’t need to “understand” it for it to work. Come as you are—curious, skeptical, open, tender. It’s all welcome.

  • Wear something comfortable that allows you to fully relax. Reiki is received fully clothed, usually lying down. You can remove shoes, glasses, and heavy jewelry if you’d like.

  • Only if you want it. Some clients prefer hands hovering just above the body, while others appreciate light, intentional touch. I always ask and adjust based on your comfort.

  • Everyone experiences it differently. Some feel heat or tingling, others see colors or have emotional releases. You might cry, sigh, yawn, or feel a deep stillness. Sometimes nothing “happens” in the moment, but shifts unfold gently over time.

  • Reiki supports your body’s natural healing processes and helps regulate your nervous system. While it’s not a substitute for medical treatment, many people find relief, clarity, or emotional balance through regular sessions.

  • We take time to ground and reflect. You’re invited to share anything you noticed. If you’d like, I’ll share what I sensed. You may feel calm, tired, or energized—give yourself some space afterward to gently re-enter the world.

  • That depends on your intention. Some clients come weekly during periods of transformation. Others book monthly or seasonally for energetic maintenance. We can talk about what feels right for you.

  • Absolutely. Reiki blends beautifully with talk therapy, bodywork, creative practices, and movement. It also supports intuitive work, sound healing, or trauma-informed approaches.
